Because of their high fat content, lotion bars create a protective barrier between our skin and the outside world. They lock in moisture for long-term hydration. Liquid lotion relies on a high percentage of water, which requires stabilizers and preservatives (that’s right... you pay for all of that). Because lotion bars contain zero water, they don’t need preservatives or bacteria inhibiting additives.
